Drivers are required to wear high-visibility vests since March

UFA, 1 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Since March 18, the new requirement of traffic rules will begin to operate in the country. Drivers caught in an accident at night (or just stopped on the road), must wear high-visibility vests when leaving the car. The rule also applies to daylight hours, if visibility is limited.

The reason for this decision was a sad statistics, according to which drivers, who left the car after an accident in the dark, were often knocked down by other motorists, Izvestia reminds. A vest or cape must meet the GOST requirements. Violators may face an administrative warning or a fine of 500 rubles.
