Drivers caught in an accident at night (or just stopped on the road), must wear high-visibility vests when leaving the car. The rule also applies to daylight hours, if visibility is limited.

The reason for this decision was a sad statistics, according to which drivers, who left the car after an accident in the dark, were often knocked down by other motorists, Izvestia reminds. A vest or cape must meet the GOST requirements. Violators may face an administrative warning or a fine of 500 rubles.
