Weather forecast for first day of spring in Bashkiria

UFA, 28 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The Bashkir Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring reports the weather in Bashkiria on the first day of spring.

Spring warm spell does not hurry up to come back to the territory of our republic, and the entire Russian Plain. Forecasters already call February the coldest month of the current calendar winter due to a frosty anticyclone, which brought abnormally cold weather. The peak of frosts this winter fell on the last days of February in Bashkortostan too. The snow having fallen within a few days, perhaps, became the most intense in all three months.

On March 1, with an increase in atmospheric pressure, the intensity of atmospheric phenomena in the republic will begin to weaken. But another cold air front is forecasted. The air temperature will drop at night to -21, -26, in places to -32 degrees. In the daytime it is expected to -9, -14 C, sometimes up to -19 C.

On March 2 it will be a little snowy; the wind will be northwest and moderate. At night the temperatures will go down to -17, -22 C, in some places dropping to -27 C, in the daytime -7, -12 C.

As a rule, a frosty winter ending is followed by a cool March with temperatures one degree below the average multi-year values and a moderately warm April, experts at the "Phobos" Center say. According to such scenario, clear weather and precipitation within the norm usually prevail. According to forecasts, extreme frosts on a larger territory of Russia will last until the middle of the first decade of March. In the second decade, the weather pattern will return back to normal, and at the end of the month it will become warmer than usual.
