Rustem Khamitov held briefing session in connection with M-5 highway accident

UFA, 28 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a briefing session in connection with the traffic accident on the M-5 highway, which killed nine people.

It was attended by members of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, heads of relevant ministries, departments and law enforcement agencies.

The session began with a minute of silence in memory of the accident victims.

Rustem Khamitov instructed the Government of the Republic to provide financial assistance to the families of the victims and injured people.

Besides he set a task to work out the issue of creating a monitoring system, including video recording facilities, on highways and federal highways outside populated areas.

In addition, according to Rustem Khamitov, it is necessary to strengthen control over traffic rules observance by drivers both on motorways, and in cities and municipalities, to promote safe driver behavior.

The Head of the Republic also sent telegrams with condolences to the families of those killed in the accident.

Recall that yesterday, on the M-5 highway near the village of Ulu-Telyak, Iglinsky district, a traffic accident occurred involving a MAN truck loaded with crushed stone and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus carrying passengers on the Ufa-Ust-Katav route. The accident killed nine people. Three residents of Bashkortostan were among them.
