Ufa International Airport became best in country for third consecutive year

UFA, 8 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Daria Petrova/. The Ufa International Airport becomes the best airport in Russia for the third consecutive year. This is reported by the press service of the Ufa aviation hub. Ufa International Airport won the national award "Russia's Air Gate" in the nomination "Best Airport-2018" (category "International Airport up to 4 million passengers per year"), ahead of the airports in Kazan and Vladivostok. In addition, the Ufa airport was again recognized the best by the results of passenger voting.

The awarding ceremony was held on February 7 in Moscow as part of the business program of the National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS-2018. The award was presented to the General Director of the Ufa International Airport by the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Alexander Yurchik.

Recall, in the near future, on behalf of Rustem Khamitov, reconstruction of the domestic airlines terminal will begin - this is one of the "jubilee construction projects" planned for the 100th anniversary of Bashkortostan. The project will increase the capacity of the internal terminal by half - from 600 to 1.2 thousand passengers per hour.

Modernization of the international terminal of the Ufa airport was carried out in preparation for the SCO and BRICS Summits in Ufa in the summer of 2015. The runway has been renovated and now it allows accommodating such super-heavy jets as Boeing-747, Ruslan and Airbus-330. The new international terminal has been built that meets world standards due to the republican funds.

The national prize "Russia's Air Gate" is awarded annually. The decision is made by the expert council, and also on the basis of the Internet voting among passengers. Airport terminals operation, quality of services for passengers and airlines, performance parameters, transport (aviation) security, non-aviation airport incomes, environmental and social responsibility are taken into account when assessing airports.
