Sign of easternmost point of Europe will be established in Bashkiria capital

UFA, 7 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/. The idea of establishing in Ufa a sign of the easternmost point of Europe was expressed by the member of the Russian Geographical Society, public figure and ultra-marathoner Dmitry Erokhin. He noted that the capital of Bashkiria should be proud of the fact that experts of the Guinness Book of Records had specially marked the city in 2016. Recall that the Cape of Roca in Portugal is recognized as the westernmost point of Europe.

It is still unknown where the sign will be installed and in what form. The local authorities promised to engage Ufa residents, local lore experts, sportsmen, famous personalities and the author of the idea Dmitry Erokhin in discussing this issue. Most likely, the starting point will be Ufa railway station, so the object is likely to be installed in the Soviet district of Ufa.
