Bashkir foil fencer won gold medal at World Cup stage

The Bashkir sportswoman Anastasia Ivanova, together with Inna Deriglazova, Marta Martyanova and Svetlana Tripanina, won gold medals of international competitions.

First, our girls having beaten the national team of Spain with a score of 45:26. Then the Russians team won South Korea - 44:12.

"The Russians had to catch up in a semifinal match with the US team. After the fifth fight, the advantage of American women reached 11 touches - 25:14. Deriglazova won back almost half of this gap - 10: 5 against Nzingha Prescod. Martyanova scored a little more having beated Iman Blow - 7: 5. And still after the eighth fight, in which Deriglazova failed to win Nicole Ross - 5: 5, the Russians were behind in the score - 36:40. However, Tripapina managed to beat Prescod - 9: 4 and pulled our national team into the final - 45:44", the Russian Fencing Federation reports.

The trainee of the Bashkir fencing school Anastasia Ivanova replaced Tripapina in the final. As a result, the ninth fight the girls completed with a score of 42:32.
