Laboratory for export honey quality control will be launched in Bashkiria - Rosselkhoznadzor RB

UFA, 25 January 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Daria Petrova/. In Bashkiria a laboratory that will monitor the quality of honey exported for export will be launched. This was announced at a regular meeting of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB, by the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for Bashkortostan Republic, Yuri Petrov. Already 40 million rubles are allocated from the federal budget for its equipment.

According to Yuri Petrov, the need to equip such a laboratory is dictated by a decrease in the amount of honey that goes to export: if in 2015 more than 103 tons of marketable honey was exported from the republic, in 2017 only 52 tons.

"The fact that foreign laboratories establish illegal substances in our honey, mainly antibiotics played a key role in this decline," said Yuri Petrov. "This is especially true in connection with the "Apimondia" Congress to be held in Bashkiria in 2021, which we should host properly".
