Increased wind and reduced visibility due to blizzards is predicted in Bashkiria

UFA, 22 January 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for Bashkortostan informs that on January 23, the east, southeast wind 9-14 m/s is expected across the republic. Gusts can reach 15-20 m/s. Deterioration of visibility up to 500-1000 meters is forecasted on roads during snow, snowstorms. The air temperature at night will be -10, -15 degrees Celsius, in the daytime -7, -12 C. In the east of the republic at night it will be -20, -25 C, dropping to -30 C at bright intervals, during the day -16, -21 C. The information is provided by the Republican Office for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.

"In case of wind gusts, first of all, check the condition of power grids and equipment, heating stoves in apartment houses. Ensure the serviceability of internal and external fire water supply, telephone communication, prepare fire-fighting equipment. It is deadly dangerous to stand under a power line and approach broken wires", rescuers explained.

Drivers and pedestrians should also be careful: probability of accidents increases.
