Life expectancy increased to record high in outgoing year in Russia

UFA, 29 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Russia, in the outgoing year of 2017, life expectancy has risen to a record high - it has increased to 72.6 years, Izvestia reports.

According to the Head of the Ministry of Health Veronika Skvortsova, in many respects such favorable changes became possible due to the programs for formation of healthy lifestyle, the introduction of high-tech polyclinics with prompt medical examination and advanced training for doctors.

"Total mortality, according to the Federal State Statistics Service, declined by more than 2% in 10 months of 2017, by almost 35,000 lives were saved more than a year ago", the ministry reports.

In the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as in the whole country, the demographic situation is also changing, "active aging" of the population is observed. Demographers state that the whole world has entered the "age of the elderly".
