80% of Bashkiria's trade and public catering facilities are accessible to people with disabilities

In Bashkortostan, out of 25 thousand objects of trade, public catering and consumer services, more than 80% correspond to the established requirements regarding accessibility for low-mobility citizens. They are equipped with ramps with handrails or equipped with buttons for calling personnel. This was reported by the Chairman of the State Committee of Trade RB Guzel Asylova.

According to her, the implementation of measures to ensure the availability of trade and public catering facilities for people with disabilities is quite complex. The final result depends on the effective interaction of federal, republican authorities and local self-government bodies. Administrations of municipalities are conducting a survey of consumer market facilities to obtain a true picture.

Another important area, which the State Committee for Trade of the region is currently working on, is creation of conditions for education of disabled people with subsequent employment. Ufa College of the Food and Service Industry was chosen as the educational site.

Now a program is being developed for additional vocational education for disabled people, designed for two months. After the completed training a diploma of obtaining additional professional education in cooking is given.

"Currently, work is also being carried out to open a catering facility in Bashkiria for low-mobility citizens. The project plans to realize the creative workshop "Unique Art - Territory of Creativity", the press secretary of the State Committee of Trade Nina Nikandrova said.
