Russians named most promising occupations for starting career - poll

UFA, 19 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VCIOM) published research data on the topic of occupations chosen by Russians. The interviewed Russians believe that the top-demand areas in the labor market in the future (in 7-10 years) will include: high-tech production (33%), IT technology (26%), healthcare and social services (24%). The least promising are blue-collar jobs - they are noted by less than 1% of respondents.
Leading positions are taken by trade (48%) and services (30%) in the rating of "easy to find jobs for young people". Among other areas suitable for starting a career, industry (18%) and construction (14%) were also mentioned.
The Top 3 most attractive areas in terms of employment, according to recipients, includes trade (31%), industry (26%) and service (14%).
Trade and services can reduce unemployment risks: 39% and 32% of respondents, respectively, believe that it is in these areas where it is easier to find side-jobs. 15% note that construction, 14% - transport are also able to provide the labor market with jobs in the current economic situation.
Assessing the prospects for building a career, 84% of respondents prefer financial structures, 78% - legal services, 71% - work in law enforcement bodies and 65% - trade.
The All-Russian poll was conducted on December 10-11, 2017, ordered by the Expert Coordination Center. Russians aged 18 to 64 years took part in it. The poll method was a telephone interview on a random sample of landline and mobile phones of 1200 respondents.
