Russia and Egypt plan to sign memorandum on flights resumption
UFA, 15 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. The signing of a memorandum on the resumption of air communication between Russia and Egypt may take place today, December 15. This was stated by the Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, Izvestia reports.
"We expect that (the representative of Egypt) will come on Friday, if not delayed. We expect that (the memorandum) will be signed", he said.
This week, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed the resumption of flights between the two countries in Cairo.
Air traffic between the two countries was stopped two years ago, due to a crash of the Kogalymavia airplane in Sinai in October 2015. The crash was caused by a terrorist attack.
