Bashkortostan is among leaders in implementing events of Year of Environment

UFA, 15 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Within the framework of the 5th All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection, a meeting of the Federal Ecological Council was held, at which the results of the Year of Environment were summed up.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Bashkortostan Ildar Khadyev made a report on the work carried out in the region and specially protected natural areas of the republic. He dwelled in detail on the three largest events with the greatest environmental effect, which were included in the Federal Plan for the Year of Environment. This is a reconstruction of an integrated complex of biological treatment facilities at Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, the branch of PJSOC Bashneft, construction of a waste treatment facility for sulphide-alkaline waste water from the Monomer plant and the refinery of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC, reconstruction of the treatment facilities of the main production site at Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat.

At the meeting of the Federal Ecological Council, Bashkiria was awarded a certificate in the nomination "Active Environmental Policy of the Region in the Year of Environment ", the Ministry of Ecology RB informs.

The delegation of the republic took part in the round tables. The Director of the Institute of Life Safety RB Larisa Belan told about a creation of the first in Russia "Yangan-Tau" Geopark in the territory of the Salavat district. The application from Bashkiria geopark is submitted for the UNESCO status nomination.

The report aroused special interest of representatives of the subjects of the Russian Federation, as many of them were considering the issue of creating geoparks in their regions. As the European experience has shown, this form is very beneficial and promotes the socio-economic growth of the territories.
