Brightest star shower of year can be observed on night of December 13 to 14

Bashkiria residents will be able to observe the brightest star shower of the year - a Geminid meteor shower - at night of December 13 to 14. It is on this night that the peak of the greatest activity of the meteor shower is expected, but there is a chance to see the star shower and make a wish until December 19.

"The best time to observe the Geminids is from about 1 to 5 am on December 14. This year, the Moon will not hamper the observation of the maximum of the Geminid. The waning moon will rise in the morning - at 04.52 ", the Ufa city planetarium informs.

As for other meteor showers, no binoculars or telescopes are required to observe Geminids, but it is necessary to choose a place where the sky is not illuminated by street lights, experts advise.
