High-tech medical care can be rendered to already 50% of those in need in Bashkiria - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 30 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Today, on November 30, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov delivered an Address to the deputies of the State Assembly - the Kurultay of the Republic. He devoted much of his speech to the development of the healthcare sector, including medical science. "The scientists of our republic are known for their studies in the field of ophthalmology, surgical disciplines, advanced methods of restorative treatment and balneology, production of innovative medical materials. Our oncologists make progress working together with scientists from Japan under new targeted antitumor drugs development", he said.
Rustem Khamitov suggested thinking over creation of a medical scientific and educational cluster with participation of research centers, leading clinics and innovative enterprises for replicating scientific achievements, creating new samples of drugs and equipment, and expanding high-tech medical care.
"Now, more than 50 percent of those in need receive high-tech medical care in the republic, despite the fact that only a few years ago this figure did not reach 15 percent. It is necessary to increase consistently the volumes and state financing of this important type of medical services", the head of the region believes. "The transition to digital medicine, introduction of remote technologies opens up wide opportunities for systemic management of patients health. Medical bracelets, heart pacemakers of the latest generation allow conducting round-the-clock monitoring of health and transfer data to a clinic. Relevant specialists with new high-tech competencies should be prepared".
