UFA, 8 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Moscow, the third festival of the Russian Geographical Society (RGO) is held, dedicated to the peoples of Russia. Guests of the event could not help passing by a Bashkir yurt, which was brought to the festival by delegates of the regional branch of the RGO. As reported by "Bashkortostan" TV and Radio Company, more than 170 items of everyday life of Bashkirs were exhibited inside the yurt - clothes, weapons, utensils - everything from the repositories of the National Museum RB. Here the festival participants were treated to natural Bashkir honey, and also listened to kurai playing.
The actor Sergei Bezrukov also got to know Bashkir traditions. Ildar Sharipov, the master of kurai making presented the actor a Bashkir national musical instrument - kurai.
The Central House of Artists housed expositions of more than 30 regions of Russia - from Vologda to Chukotka. The festival was opened by the RGO president Sergey Shoigu. When communicating with the delegation of Bashkortostan, the president of the RGO on behalf of the regional office, the head of the delegation Kamil Ziganshin presented an exact copy of the map of the Earth by the French cartographer of the 17th century Jean Baptiste. It was made by goldsmith jewelers from Zlatoust.
