Indonesian Tenggarong hosted presentation of World Folklore Festival-2020

UFA, 26 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. On October 25, in Indonesia a presentation of the World Folklore Festival-2020 was held at the meeting of the General Assembly of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF).

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Salavat Sagitov told about preparations for this large-scale event in Bashkortostan. It was noted that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a Decree regarding this event and now the organizing committee and the federal action plan were being formed. At the republican level, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov approved the organizing committee and working groups. The draft plan developed by the regional organizing committee was presented at the CIOFF General Assembly and adopted by the CIOFF members.

During the 47th CIOFF World Congress, in order to implement the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of the World Folklore Festival concluded in Ufa in December 2016, an agreement was signed between the CIOFF Executive Committee and the Republican Center for Folk Art. This agreement provides practical preparation activity for the key cultural event of 2020.

The CIOFF president Philip Beaussant marked high organizational level of preparations for the World Folklore Festival and the 48th CIOFF World Congress, which would be held in Bashkortostan in September next year.
