SPE president Darcy Spady paid visit to USPTU

UFA, 25 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The President of the World Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Darcy Spady visited Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU) in the framework of the official visit to Russia.

He presented the "Outstanding Student Chapter Award" to the club "ProfTELEPORT" - the student SPE department at USPTU. Students-members of the club receive such high evaluation of their activities for the third consecutive year. In 2015, ProfTELEPORT first won a prestigious award of the World Society of Petroleum Engineers at the Annual Technical Exhibition in Houston, in 2016 the team performed in Dubai equally brightly, and recently, they had another success at the technical exhibition in San Antonio.

"I was impressed with what I saw here. I am sure that your university is one of the leading in oil and gas sector. I see your students all over the world. It is important for me that the movement of oil engineers grows in Russia, where there are large oil reserves and large companies using the latest technology", said Darcy Spady speaking to the students.

The SPE President, Broadview Energy Asset Management Managing Director shared his life and professional experience with future oil companies.

The rector of the university Ramil Bakhtizin thanked the guest for his visit and informative speech.

In conclusion, the students performed the anthem of ProfTELEPORT in English and invited Darcy Spady to come to Ufa again.

"Ufa is a very beautiful city," he admitted. "I'm here for the first time, and I like it".
