Bashkiria delegation participates in CIOFF World Congress in Indonesia

UFA, 24 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The delegation of Bashkortostan participates in the 47th World Congress of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) in Indonesia.

Our official delegation is represented by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republican Government Salavat Sagitov, Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Mirsayapov, General Director of the Republican Center for Folk Art Artur Alibakov.

Today, the General Assembly of the International Council for the Organization of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) will be opened.

The World Folklore Festival is part of the official CIOFF events. The first holiday took place in Holland in 1996, the second - in Japan in 2000. The third place for the festival was Hungary. In 2012 the fourth CIOFF folklore in South Korea was successfully held. Mexico was a country to host the World Folklore-2016.

In 2020, Republic of Bashkortostan will welcome the participants of this large-scale event. As noted by the press service of the government of the region, 45 countries of the world have confirmed their participation in the World Folklore Festival -2020 at the moment, which exceeds the number of participants in the festival in Mexico.

As reported by Bashinform News Agency, under the auspices of CIOFF - the associate member of UNESCO - the World Folklore Festival 2020 will be held in Bashkortostan. The delegation of the republic will inform the participants of the congress about the preparations for the folklore festival, and will discuss further joint activities with the CIOFF.

In particular, in September next year the CIOFF World Congress will be held in Bashkortostan.
