Three republican universities entered Top 100 best universities in Russia

UFA, 23 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The republican universities occupy a worthy place in the Russian and international rankings. This was told by the rector of Bashkir State University Nikolay Morozkin at a meeting of heads of universities with the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.
According to the Expert rating agency, three universities of Bashkortostan – USPTU (Ufa State Petroleum Technological University), USATU (Ufa State Aviation Technical University) and BashSU (Bashkir State University) - are among the top 100 universities in Russia. In addition, USATU and Bashkir State University entered the Top-50 rating of the inventive activity of Russian universities.
The republican universities are also included in international ratings. Thus, USATU is included in the Shanghai Global University Ranking. And USPTU entered the Top-200 + of QS international university rating among universities in developing Europe and Asia.
Nikolay Morozkin also noted that the higher educational institutions of the republic exceeded the average Russian indicators in the number of publications, citations, commercialization of the results of intellectual activity, even ahead of a number of federal and research universities. Bashkortostan takes the fourth place in the Volga Federal District in the number of dissertational councils.
According to the rector of Bashkir State University, the main universities of the republic have long-term major projects. For example, USPTU is engaged in creation and development of an engineering center for oil and gas machine building (the amount of financing is 546 million rubles), BashGU focuses on creating biodegradable polymer technology (380.5 million rubles), Bashkir State Pedagogical University – on training specialists with in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of Islam (more than 200 million rubles).
“Today, very high demands are made on universities, on quality of training specialists. We understand that in addition to popular assessments, there are also ratings - national, international. There is some grading; there are new approaches to assessing the performance of universities. Of course, we should be guided by them”, Rustem Khamitov stressed.
