Bashkiria villagers will receive additional compensation for seized animals with foot-and-mouth disease

UFA, 10 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Bashkortostan, villagers, from which cattle with foot-and-mouth disease were seized, will receive additional compensation. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov during a briefing session.

The first lump-sum payments to large families and low-income families in the quarantine area in the amount of 5 thousand rubles for urgent needs, including for the purchase of dairy products, have already begun on the instruction of the head of the republic.

In addition, the size of compensation payments for the cattle seized from the villagers is now discussed. According to Deputy Prime Minister Irek Mukhametdinov, the estimated amount is 130 rubles per kilogram of livestock in live weight.

Work is also underway to provide households with the necessary fodder. According to preliminary estimates, about 33 million rubles will be necessary to compensate for seized livestock and fodder.

In three settlements of Tuymazy district, where an outbreak of foot and mouth disease virus was detected, 928 head of livestock, including 486 cattle, are to be destroyed. The liquidation of the consequences of the disease will require 35-40 million rubles.
