USPTU will cooperate with American University of Rice

UFA, 9 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. A memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between Ufa State Petroleum Technological University and Rice University Energy and Environment Initiative, Houston, Texas at the International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Energy Development "Russian Energy Week" (ENES Forum) in Moscow.
The main areas of cooperation within framework of memorandum are:
- training of highly qualified personnel in the field of oil and gas industry and other related industries;
- joint educational programs of magistracy, postgraduate study or projects in the field of oil and gas industry and related industries;
- conducting joint scientific or scientific and technical research involving the academic teaching staff, postgraduate students, scientists and research workers of the parties, including organization of joint reports or preparation of joint scientific works;
- holding joint international conferences, symposia, roundtables (including online) with participation of the parties or invited Russian and foreign specialists, as well as organizing joint reports and presentations;
- commercialization of joint developments.
The signing of these agreements was the result of a round table that was held in Houston in May. Russian oil and gas universities and Rice University, with the support of the trade mission, announced their intention to train managerial human resources in the energy sector, as well as to exchange students and scientific developments. The largest oil and gas companies of Russia and the USA have already supported the project.
In late July, the trade mission of Russia and Rice signed a memorandum. Then the agreement opened up opportunities for expanding international cooperation for all Russian universities with Rice, first of all, in the field of technology exchange and personnel training in the oil and gas industry.
