One-and-a-half-ton communications satellite is falling on Earth

UFA, 9 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The dual-purpose communication satellite Molniya-1-44, which was launched in Soviet times, is falling on Earth. Russian experts believe that it will burn in the atmosphere, only its miniature fragments can reach our planet.
The "Molniya -1-44" should cease to exist about October 20-25. A number of media reported that parts of the one-and-a-half-ton satellite may not burn in the atmosphere and fly to Earth.
According to "RIA Novosti", satellites of the "Molniya" type were launched in large series, that's why they leave the orbit quite often. They are usually completely destroyed in the atmosphere. Only fragments of about 500 grams can reach the Earth.
Total, about 50 satellites descend from orbit for a year, two or three of which are Molniya satellites. All their unburned parts fall in the non-navigable areas of the Pacific Ocean.
