Bashkortostan entered top ten regions for ski and health recreation in Russia

UFA, 2 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Bashkortostan was in the top ten regions for ski and recreation in Russia. According to the preliminary results of the Internet voting of the National Geographic Traveler Awards-2017, the republic, in particular, its popular ski resort Abzakovo, takes the fifth place in the "Russian ski vacation" category. So far, four percent of votes have been cast for it. The first place went to Krasnaya Polyana with 37 percent of votes, the second - Elbrus (27%), the third - Sheregesh (Kemerovo region, 25%), followed by Arkhyz (Karachay-Cherkessia, 6%).

Bashkortostan is included in one more nomination - "Russian Health-Improving Rest". In this nomination the Altai region is leading with 27 percent, Bashkortostan has - 4 percent.

Every citizen of the republic can support his region and vote for it on the website of the award.

Total, the organizers of the award announced the voting in 22 nominations. Among them there are "Russian adventure vacation"; "Russian ethnic vacation"; "Russian excursion vacation"; "Russian ecological vacation" and others.

Among the foreign destinations for beach holidays, Greece and Spain are leading, Cyprus - for family vacations, Italy - for excursion holidays, Switzerland - for ski holidays, Georgia - for gastronomic and agricultural tourism, the USA - for adventure holidays, Israel for health, and Japan - for exotic holidays. The opening of the year is China.

Internet voting of the National Geographic Traveler Awards-2017 will last until October 15.
