Asteroid twice bigger than Chelyabinsk meteorite flies to Earth

UFA, 2 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. A huge asteroid 40 meters in diameter flies to Earth. The celestial body is twice the size of the Chelyabinsk meteorite. The asteroid can collide with our planet on October 12, and if this happens, then the Earth will face a catastrophe, Izvestia reports.

According to NASA, the cosmic body will approach the planet on October 12 at a distance of 43.5 thousand kilometers. Experts believe that the distance from the Earth to the asteroid may be much smaller - within 6.8 thousand kilometers. The asteroid is named 2012 TC4.
