Victory story: Ufa boy after bone marrow transplantation recovered from acute myeloblastic leukemia

UFA, 21 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The charity foundation for helping severely ill children "Poter Net" shared another story of victory, which can be an example for many.
The young Ufa resident Maxim Glukhov is 13 years old. At the age of eight he was diagnosed with acute myeloblastic leukemia. Maxim struggled with a serious illness for three long years: had several courses of chemotherapy, constant tests, injections, punctures, disease recurrence and bone marrow transplantation in Moscow. And now, having passed all the tests, Maxim can safely declare a victory over the disease.
This year, Maxim has already participated in the rehabilitation of the "Poter Net" foundation in Olympic Park.
"The most important thing is that now Maxim is starting to forget about the long, painful years during which he fought with his serious illness. Now he lives the life of a healthy and happy teenager, is engaged in the children's theater "Rostok" in the Dema district of Ufa and sings in the "TwoMaxx" musical project. Recently, Maxim as a member of the group took part in the music contest "Ufa Wave 2017" on the "Sputnik FM" radio station," the foundation representatives told about him.
Everyone can become a bone marrow donor for those who need transplantation. Since 2015, the Republican blood transfusion station has been replenishing the Register of potential hematopoietic stem cells donors with the help of donors from Bashkortostan. To date, the National Register of potential bone marrow donors named after Vasi Perevoshchikov includes more than 74 thousand people. About 460 of them are residents of our republic. 185 transplants were made. Details about the donation of blood and bone marrow and recommendations before donation can be found in the «Its Easy To Become A Hero» project of the foundation.
