Half of polluting substances in atmosphere are emitted by cars - Rosprirodnadzor in Bashkortostan

In 2016, 918.6 thousand tons of pollutants got into the atmosphere in the territory of Bashkiria, half of which was caused by automobile emissions. This was stated by the head of the Office of the Federal Service for the Supervision of Natural Resources in Bashkortostan (Rosprirodnadzor) Yuri Dudnikov at the 45th meeting of the State Assembly - Kurultai RB. He delivered a report to parliamentarians on the activities of the agency in 2016 and the first half of 2017.

According to Yuri Dudnikov, the dynamics of emissions into the atmosphere is relatively stable since 2013.

33% of all emissions from stationary facilities are accounted for Ufa, and only 70% of them fall on large plants. Analysis of complaints of the population of the northern industrial zone, conducted by Rosprirodnadzor in the Republic of Bashkortostan, showed that often the townspeople react to the consequences of small businesses activity. The department counted more than 100 small objects, which work was not supervised in any way. At the same time there are no methods for calculating the harm inflicted to the atmospheric air.

The head of the regional department of Rosprirodnadzor also cited other figures. Thus, the volume of polluted sewage discharged into rivers is 277 million cubic meters. Annually the republic produces 20 million tons of waste, 1.1 million tons fall on municipal waste. The number of unauthorized dumps reaches 2.5 thousand.
