Bashkir Kurultai proposes to support Bashkir language with Internet technologies

UFA, 15 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. The Executive Committee of the World Kurultay of Bashkirs (WKB) prepared a plan of measures to preserve and study the Bashkir language. In particular, the organization is developing its own program to support and develop the Bashkir language, which takes into account wishes and proposals of the public.
As noted by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the WKB Amir Ishemgulov, most of the paragraphs of this document were included in the draft state program on measures to develop the state languages of Bashkortostan and the languages of the peoples of our republic. In accordance with the Decree of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Hamitov, the Government RB is instructed to develop and approve the state program with the subprograms "Bashkir language", "Russian language" and "Native languages" by February 1, 2018.

The main task of this program is to protect and preserve the state Russian and Bashkir languages of Bashkortostan. The program has interesting proposals for the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ufa Science Centre RAS in the field of information technology. Among them, there are such projects as development of the automatic correction system for the Bashkir texts, creation of the electronic speech base of the Bashkir language on the Internet, creation of electronic dictionaries for mobile phones, development of a mobile application for studying Bashkir language on smartphones, tablets, computers, creation of speech recognition systems in the Bashkir language and the synthesis of artificial speech in the Bashkir language.
