Bashkiria takes 52nd position in ecological ranking of summer

UFA, 11 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The Tambov Region, Altai Republic and Altai Territory, St. Petersburg, Chuvashia, Ulyanovsk Region, Moscow, Belgorod, Murmansk and Kursk Regions – these Russian subjects have the best ecological situation.

The All-Russian Public Organization "Green Patrol" made up the "Environmental Rating of the Subjects of the Russian Federation" following the results of the last summer. Bashkortostan improved its positions in it by five points and was moved to the 52nd line (total 85 regions are represented in it). Our republic is in the 10th place among the subjects of the Volga Federal District. At the same time, the Green Patrol referred to the oil pipeline break in the region upstream the Ayaz River in the summer of this year, as a result of which crude oil got into water bodies - the stream, the Berezovaya River and the Ayaz River, which is a tributary of the Ufa River.

This rating is compiled from 2007, published four times a year and reflects the current state of the environment in the regions of Russia for the reporting period. In addition to information from regional media, it is based on reports by the Ministry of Emergencies and Roshydromet (Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring), official reports of regional authorities and users of natural resources, complaints of residents to the Green Patrol hotline, materials of their own field research, etc., the public organization explains.

The environmental protection situation is worse, according to the rating, in Bryansk, Irkutsk, Moscow, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Regions.
