Wikipedia volunteers will conduct "Week of Bashkortostan" marathon

UFA, 8 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. From 11 to 17 September, volunteers will conduct a "Bashkortostan Week" marathon in the Russian-speaking Wikipedia segment, which will be part of the "European Region Week" project.

"Within the framework of the campaign, all interested persons can create articles about Bashkortostan, population, culture, history, economy of our region. It is also planned to improve the existing articles on Bashkortostan, it is proposed to post their photos on the Wikimedia Commons", said Idel Ishbaev, one of the organizers of the marathon.

In parallel, the participants of the marathon can register their articles and images for the contest «Bashkortostan 100», which is held in the Bashkir segment of Wikipedia.

Work on the "Week of Bashkortostan" was held for two years. Volunteers have prepared a list to create more than 400 critical articles on topics, more than 700 articles for improvement.

The "Wikimedia Bashkortostan" group provides assistance in organizing and holding the "Week of Bashkortostan". It unites people interested in the projects of the Wikimedia movement in the Bashkir language and topics related to Bashkortostan. On November 11, 2015, the group became the 49th in the world list of such groups and the first in Russia.
