French-German TV channel ARTE makes film about honey and wild-hive beekeeping in Bashkiria

UFA, 7 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. A crew of the French-German television channel ARTE arrived in Bashkortostan at the Shulgan-Tash reserve to shoot a film about a unique trade - wild-hive beekeeping preserved in the republic. As reported by UFA.AIF.RU with reference to the reserve director Mikhail Kosarev, the channel plans to release 16 films about honey shot in different countries, including in Russia. The film will show hereditary beekeepers working in the reserve, in particular Sabit Galin. The video camera will capture how he lives, works and collects wild honey. The staff of the reserve will tell about the preservation of the wild-hive beekeeping in the region and the peculiarities of the Burzyan bee.
According to the producer of the project Alexandra Dalsbek, the film is specially shot in a place unknown to the European TV audience. "It is important for us to understand the soul of a local resident, a beekeeper, to show how he lives, why he is engaged in this activity", she said.
Viewers of the ARTE channel will be shown the 26-minute documentary about Bashkir honey in early 2018.
