Bashkiria residents are among tourists evacuated from Elbrus region

UFA, 4 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. There are mountaineers from Bashkiria among the tourists evacuated from the Elbrus region. According to the "Ufa1" web portal, people are being taken away by helicopters from the risk zone.

Recall that on September 1, due to the rains a mudflow came down from the slope of the Adyl-Su valley onto the federal highway A-158 in 2 km west of the village of Elbrus, having damaged 8 sections of the road and a gas pipeline. The gas supply was disrupted in six settlements, where more than 5,5 thousand people live. The movement of vehicles has been stopped from 83rd to 93rd km of the federal highway. According to the information of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, now work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the mudflow in the emergency situation area. In this regard, citizens are asked to refrain from traveling to the vicinity of the Mt. Elbrus in the Baksan district.
