Air quality deteriorated due to unfavorable meteorological conditions in Ufa

In Ufa, the unfavorable meteorological conditions mode No. 2 is announced for enterprises of the city, the Ministry of Ecology of the republic informs. It was due to the established weather conditions, which contribute to the accumulation of dust particles and other harmful substances in the atmosphere. In this regard, residents of the city can feel the deterioration of air quality.

"The introduction of the mode No. 2 means a reduction of polluting substances emission by enterprises by 20-40%", the head of the Ufa territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology RB Alfiya Abzelilova explained. "This obligation of enterprises is enshrined in legislation. This mode was introduced from 10 am August 31 to 8 pm September 1. If the weather conditions do not change, it may be extended".

Over the past day the operating department of the Ministry of Ecology RB received 12 complaints from citizens on the gassed air. All complaints were submitted to the Rospotrebnadzor and the Rosprirodnadzor Directorates in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The Directorate of State Analytical Control of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Bashkortostan carried out an air sampling in the evening of August 30 in the city of Ufa. The maximum permissible concentrations of pollutants were not exceeded.
