Rustem Khamitov took part in video conference on education system readiness for new academic year

UFA, 28 August 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held a video conference on the education system readiness for the start of the new academic year, in which the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part.
The Prime Minister noted that about 30 million people would study in Russia that year. 15.5 million children will go to school, of which 1.8 million of them will be first-graders. This is by 100 thousand children more than the last year. The number of children who will go to kindergartens will also increase and amount to almost 7.3 million people.
The Prime Minister said that there were almost 94,000 educational institutions in the country, of which 42,000 schools. By September 1, 76 new schools will open their doors, and by the end of the year - another 94. Almost 100 thousand children will be able to study there.
Speaking about kindergartens, the Prime Minister said that since 2013, more than 1.25 million seats had been created in preschool institutions. Today, there are almost no waiting lists for children from three to seven years. But it is necessary to continue work on the age segment under three years.
The education system of the Republic of Bashkortostan includes more than 2.9 thousand educational organizations, including 1,332 schools and 671 their branches. In the new academic year, 465,400 schoolchildren will go to school, which is by 13,600 more than the last year, including 52.3 thousand first-graders, which is by 1.6 thousand more than in the previous year. The share of schoolchildren studying in the morning shift will be 90%.
Until the end of 2017 the Lyceum No. 160 for 550 studying seats in the Kirov district of Ufa, Lyceum No. 161 for 825 studying seats in the Dema district of Ufa, the first stage of secondary school No. 147 for 350 studying seats (middle and senior school) in the village of Nagaevo, a boarding school for 120 beds in the Starosubhangulovo village of the Burzyan district will be put into operation in the republic.
In addition, in 2017, from the republican budget, 58 educational institutions were allocated 200 million rubles for the introduction of new 2,667 studying seats at the expense of major repairs.
