Russian Health Ministry named Bashkiria among leading regions with reduced mortality

UFA, 4 August 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The Ministry of Health of Russia called Bashkortostan among the leading regions with reduced mortality. This information was announced during a video-conference meeting chaired by the Deputy Minister of Health Tatyana Yakovleva.

In the first place, the demographic situation was considered. As it was marked, in the first half of this year, a decrease in mortality was recorded in 68 regions of the Russian Federation, growth in 16 regions. Separately, the territories were named, where the death rate has been steadily declining since the beginning of the year. Bashkortostan also entered the leading regions to reduce the mortality rate. As a positive example, no more than a dozen subjects were named, the press service of the Ministry of Health RB informs.

In general, in the country for January-June, along with a decrease in mortality, there was a decrease in the birth rate. The population decrease was recorded; the number of births did not exceed the number of deaths.

Participants of the video-conference also discussed the results of the assisted reproductive technologies (IVF) use for the first half of the year. According to Oleg Filippov, the deputy director of the Department of Medical Care for Children and the Maternity Obstetric Service of the Federal Ministry of Health, most of the subjects fulfilled the established plan for IVF procedures.

In Bashkortostan since the beginning of the year more than 700 procedures have been carried out, total in 2017 there were 1.5 thousand of them. Last year, 850 IVF procedures were performed.
