Konstantin Tolkachev: "Bashkortostan uses only small part of its tourist potential"

The State Duma held a constituent meeting of the Association for Economic Cooperation of the Regions - "Tourism Development Association in the Russian Federation". Its main goal is to promote interregional tourism, assist in implementing legislative initiatives of the regions in the sphere of tourism development, attract state and non-state investments to support the tourism industry, promote tourism-related economic and legislative interests of regions in federal authorities.

The founders of the Association were state authorities of 10 subjects of the Russian Federation: Ivanovo, Kostroma, Moscow, Pskov, Smolensk, Yaroslavl, Tula, Moscow, St. Petersburg Regions and the Krasnodar Territory. The Association can be joined by state authorities of other regions, profit and non-profit organizations that carry out their activities in the field of tourism.

"This topic is more than relevant for our republic. Bashkortostan has quite large potential for tourism development. It has a natural diversity with unique landscapes and natural monuments. The tourist potential of Bashkortostan is connected with the rich culture, the history of the republic, its numerous health resorts, and the traditional hospitality of our people", commented on the Chairman of the State Assembly RB Konstantin Tolkachev. "In recent years, a number of steps have been taken to develop the tourism industry in the republic, but in fact, we have so far used only a small part of our tourism potential, we are at the very beginning of the way to improve the tourist attractiveness of our region. To achieve this goal, we should use different tools. The Association, created on the initiative of the State Duma, is one of them. The republic would receive a number of advantages from representation in such an organization. The advantages are obvious - a possibility of obtaining additional resources for the development of our tourism industry, promotion at the federal level of our legislative initiatives that can support the tourism industry in Bashkortostan".
