Unusual artifact was found at "Ancient Ufa Settlement-II"

UFA, 27 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. The current field season at the monument of archeology the "Ancient Ufa Settlement-II" surprised with an unusual finding. "Archaeologists of the Ancient Ufa Museum-Reserve discovered millstones, which preserved almost intact ", said the director of the museum Gaukhar Battalova. According to her, this finding once again suggests that our ancestors were engaged not only in cattle breeding, but also in agriculture, which indicates a high level of social and economic development of the region.

After carrying out the necessary analysis it will be possible to find out what kinds of cereal crops were grinded by these millstones. A similar artifact was discovered in 2008, but corresponding analysis was not conducted at that time.

The pupils of the Ufa private school also got acquainted with the unique findings of this year. Researchers of the "Ancient Ufa" museum-reserve Marsel Shamsutdinov and Olga Krapacheva told them about this unique monument of archeology, discoveries, peculiarities of everyday life of our ancestors.

Excavations on the "Ancient Ufa Settlement-II" will continue until the end of September, the director of the museum-reserve informed.
