Sabantuy 2017 was held in Moscow Kolomenskoye Park

UFA, 24 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. A Moscow city-wide Sabantuy-2017 Festival was held in one of the most beautiful areas of Moscow, in the Kolomenskoye museum-reserve. Its organizers were Bashkortostan and Tatarstan with the support of the Moscow Government.

Kolomenskoye Park for the sixth year in a row became its venue and all the last years invariably gathers from 100 to 150 thousand Muscovites and visitors. This year the museum-reserve, stretched on a vast territory on the picturesque bank of the Moskva River, once again brought together thousands of visitors, and the most popular was the Bashkir ethnographic site on the embankment, which housed a stylized Bashkir village.

The delegation from Bashkortostan at the festival was led by the Plenipotentiary Envoy RB under the President of the Russian Federation – the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Artur Shainurov. At the opening ceremony of the Sabantuy he read out a welcoming speech on behalf of the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov. The Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Construction Issues Marat Khusnullin, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexei Shaposhnikov, Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farit Mukhametshin and other officials took part in the opening ceremony of the Moscow Sabantuy.

The Festival in Kolomenskoye was going on from 11.00 a.m. until late at night. As before, the superprize from the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov was established for the winner of the wrestling competition – a "Lada" car. Its owner in weight over 85 kg became the 24-year-old Ilshat Nurimanov, who arrived at the Moscow Sabantuy from the Nizhny Novgorod region.

As the chief director of the Sabantuy Bashkir program Ilshat Fakhertdinov said, the best masters of the arts of Moscow, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, including Ufa, took part in the concerts held throughout the park on several stages.

According to Arthur Shainurov, every year Sabantuy in Moscow expands its borders, and the number of its visitors grows - as well as the number of those who want to introduce folk traditions to their children, to preserve or restore spiritual ties with their native roots.
