Ufa Airport creates accessible environment - second ambulift was purchased for disabled passengers

UFA, 20 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. A car with an elevator for landing and disembarking people with disabilities appeared at Ufa Airport. The ambulift can be easily docked with any aircraft. Its platform is capable of "stretching up" to a height of 5.6 m, which allows passengers to be delivered to any type of aircraft. The ambulift can accommodate up to four wheelchairs and accompanying persons or two passengers on stretchers at the same time.

The device was purchased by JSC International Ufa Airport at its own expense as part of the implementation of Rosaviatsia's plan to modernize the airport infrastructure to the benefit of servicing passengers with health limitations.

As noted by the press service of the Moscow air hub, this is the second ambulift in the Ufa airport. The first TDL-5404 trailed ambulance allows assisting two passengers on wheelchairs or one patient on stretchers.

Since the beginning of 2017, the number of citizens with disabilities, who chose Ufa International Airport for flights, was more than 1,700 people. More than 100 parking spaces are organized at the Ufa airport for those arriving by their own vehicles. They are located both in the immediate vicinity of the terminals, and on each parking lot and are designated with special markings and road signs.
