Russian-Iranian Socio-Cultural Forum started its work in Ufa

UFA, 7 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The Russian-Iranian Socio-Cultural Forum started its works at Ufa Congress Hall. It is organized by the Federal Agency for National Affairs and the Government of Bashkortostan with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Federal Agency for Tourism.

The agreement to hold the event in the capital of the republic was reached last year during the visit of the head of Federal Agency for National Affairs of Russia Igor Barinov to Iran. According to him, the forum should become an additional factor of rapprochement between the two countries.

The delegation of Iran led by the Special Assistant to the President of Iran for Ethnic and Religious Minorities' Affairs Ali Younesi arrived in Ufa. Also the delegation includes the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mehdi Sanai, researcher and teacher on religious issues, rector of the University of Religions and Mazhabs Abolhassan Nawab. Representatives of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, heads of federal and regional departments, deputies of the State Duma, representatives of the expert community participate in the forum from the Russian side.

The forum participants discuss issues of preservation and development of national traditions, prevention of extremism manifestations based on nationality and religion, prospects of Russian-Iranian youth cooperation, interaction between the two countries in the sphere of tourism.
