Bashkiria ranks seventh in country's birth rate

UFA, 7 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. This year, Bashkortostan is the seventh in the country in birth rate and the first in the Volga Federal District. According to the Minister of Health RB Anvar Bakirov, since the beginning of 2017, 20 100 children were born in the republic.

The Head of the Republic signed a decree on additional measures to improve a demographic situation in the region. According to the document, young families will receive 300 thousand rubles at the time of f their first child birth. The main criterion for payment is their need for better housing conditions. Also this social payment is given to incomplete families which are registered in the waiting list for improving housing conditions.

In addition, an issue of introducing new measures of social support for student families is under consideration. In particular, it is proposed to establish a lump-sum payment of 100 thousand rubles at the child birth in these families and to increase the monthly special social allowance to families of students and post-graduate students who have children from 250 rubles to three thousand rubles.

Reproductive technologies for infertile couples (IVF, ICSI, surrogate motherhood) are provided. In 2017, 1,500 IVF procedures are planned, which is twice as much as in 2015.

Another factor affecting fertility is abortion. Over the past five years, it was managed to reduce their number by 26% in the republic, the minister stated.
