Telemedicine health care services are actively introduced in Bashkortostan

UFA, 5 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Sergey Zakharov/. The Government of Bashkortostan discussed a set of measures to ensure comprehensive use of the telemedicine centres’ capabilities.
According to the Minister of Health Anvar Bakirov, "since February 2017, the experimental operation of a new module of the Republican Medical Information and Analytical System "Centre for Remote Consultations" has begun. The technology allows quick exchanging of medical information (laboratory studies, images, electrocardiograms), sending consultation requests to specialists of a higher level, and providing access to the data of the patient's electronic medical record of all participants in the consultation".
At present, 25 medical organizations joined this module, the rest should do this by the end of the year.
It was noted that since the beginning of its operation, 711 telemedicine consultations have been conducted. Basically it was cardiology, oncology and vascular surgery.
Bashkortostan is included in the federal pilot project on use of telemedicine technologies. To date, three medical organizations of the third level (the Republican Cardiology Centre, the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital and the Republican Perinatal Centre) have access to the Federal Component "Telemedicine Consultations" of the Integrated National Medical Information System.
"Today in the Russian society, a demand for a new quality health care is being formed, corresponding to the vital, technological standards of the 21st century. It is important to ensure the transition of health care to the innovative development model, to form a unified information environment in this sector, to actively introduce science, advanced medical technologies, products and modern equipment into practice", Rustem Khamitov said at a gala meeting dedicated to the Day of Medical Worker on June 15, 2017.
"A significant direction is introduction of inpatient care substituting technologies, the development of out-patient support, home care, remote consultations, telemedicine," the Head of the Republic said.
The Prime Minister of the Government RB Rustem Mardanov also instructed to organize interaction of Bashkortostan telemedicine centres with foreign medical organizations for consultation and early diagnosis of diseases.
In addition, a Procedure of medical activities organization related to the donation of human organs for the purpose of transplantation was approved.
In the republic 376 kidney transplantations were performed for the period since 1996 (the first kidney transplant) - till July 1, 2017. In 2013, the first heart and liver transplantations were performed in Bashkortostan. During this period, heart transplantation was successfully performed for 14 recipients, and liver transplantation for 14 recipients.
6 donor bases in the cities of Ufa and Sterlitamak were formed at medical organizations. Since 2015, in order to expand donor bases, hospitals in Neftekamsk, Birsk, Dyurtyuli, Tuymazy, Belebey and Oktyabrsky have been added to this list. As of July 1, 2017, all donor bases are licensed to carry out medical activities related to organ donation.
