Heavy downpours are not expected in Ufa – Bashkir Met Office

UFA, 29 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Heavy downpours like yesterday are no longer forecasted, at least until the end of June, the Bashkir Met Office reported. The reason for such a large amount of precipitation pouring down on the capital was a cyclone from the western regions of Russia passing through the territory of our republic.

Despite all the strength of the past rainfall, it cannot be named a hazardous meteorological phenomenon, commented on the representative of the Bashkir Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Gulnaz Zakirova. Specialists recorded a shower of 24 mm/h at the meteorological post of Ufa (Zorge St., 25/2), - this is characterized as a shower or heavy rain. And intense rain, which does not stop for a very long time, and the amount of precipitated rainfall exceeds 30 mm per hour is considered as dangerous. In Ufa precipitation did not reach such critical values. But over the republic, indeed, such strong and prolonged rains have been observed in recent days.

According to weather forecasters for the next few days, June 30 and July 1, the meteorological situation in Bashkortostan will be slightly calmer. Only light rains are expected. But, starting from July 2, with a cyclone shift, rains of varying intensity are expected; a probability of heavy rains will increase.

The temperatures will remain the same, at the level of 19-24, 20-25 degrees Celsius. On July 2, a slight decrease is possible: 17-22, 18-23 degrees.
