All-People’s Front active members held volunteer clean-up on Mount Iremel in Bashkiria

Active members of the regional branch of the All-Russian People's Front (ONF) held a volunteer clean-up in the territory of the Iremel natural park. They collected garbage left by tourists. The coordinator of the environmental project of the ONF "Full-Scale Cleaning" in the republic Murad Shafikov noted that the waste on Mount Iremel was a direct consequence of environmental culture lack among people.

"The majestic Iremel Mountains with unique flora and fauna, surrounded by legends and stories, attract tourists from all over the country," Murad Shafikov said. "During the tourist season, several thousand people make ascents to the peaks every day. The natural park employees do not physically have an opportunity to clean up after each of them. In order to keep the territory in order, each holidaymaker should take his own garbage with him".

According to the representative of the All-Russian People's Front, the waste in Iremel not only violates the aesthetic perception of the natural monument, but also causes ecological damage to the territory.

The clean-up in Iremel is the second campaign of the ONF representatives on cleaning the territories of natural parks of Bashkortostan. In May, the public activists together with the representatives of the student groups conducted the "Clean Shore" campaign and put in order the shoreline of Lake Kandrykul.
