First Interregional Eco-Marathon "Over Reserves" finished in Bashkiria

UFA, 13 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. In Bashkortostan, the First Interregional Ecological Marathon "Over Reserves", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Russian reserve system was held.

The initiators of the large-scale event were the Directorate for Specially Protected Natural Territories of Bashkortostan together with the Ministry of Ecology of the republic.

The main goals of the marathon were exchange of experience, demonstration of existing models for the development of specially protected natural areas. Representatives of nature parks and reserves of Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions took part in it.

The participants of the first marathon "Over Reserves" were in Beloretsk, Burzyan, Kugarcha and Meleuz regions, visited the South Ural and Bashkir State Nature Reserves, the Iremel and Muradymovskoye Gorge Nature Parks, and the Bashkiria National Park.

A special route was developed for children. 20 schoolchildren who demonstrated good knowledge of ecological disciplines at various Olympiads saw the beauty of the natural parks "Asli-Kul", "Kandry-Kul", "Muradymovskoe Gorge" natural parks and the Bashkiria National Park.

Meanwhile, according to the director of the Bashkiria National Park Vladimir Kuznetsov, the republic has still much to do in terms of the ecological tourism development. According to him, the Bashkiria National Park has already started such work. Thus, large, colourful stands with detailed information on other natural parks in Bashkortostan were displayed on the observation platform on the Yumaguzinsky reservoir.
