Rustem Khamitov: "We are close to establishing Ministry of Family"

UFA, 1 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. In Bashkortostan, the Ministry of the Family may be established. This was stated by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov, speaking at the 1st Republican Parent forum.

"We in the Government have come to the conclusion that we need a specialized state structure that would deal with family, maternity and childhood issues on a daily basis", said the Head of the Region. "I have recently said that we are close to establishing the so called Ministry of Family. We are already approaching to accept the relevant legal documents at the level of the republic and to form such a structure. "

According to Rustem Khamitov, the need for such structure is due to the fact that today the issues of motherhood, childhood, and family relations are distributed across several agencies - health, labour and social protection, youth policy and sports ministries, and other departments.

"Such a ministry, a state committee or an agency will demonstrate that it is possible to work in this part informally, in a different way, on the basis of other principles", Rustem Khamitov said.

"We will have professionals engaged in family issues, who will know what is happening in each locality, municipality or city district."
