UFA, 30 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The Head of Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov, delivered a speech at the plenary session of the All-Russian Forum "Health Resort-2017", which takes place at the Ufa Congress Hall.
"Bashkortostan is certainly one of the most beautiful places of our country - with convenient geographical location and a developed transport system. This creates good opportunities for organizing active health-improving rest here", said Rustem Khamitov. "Today the republic is among the most attractive tourist regions in Russia. Bashkortostan rose from the 20th to the 12th place in the National Tourist Rating last year. The 12th is already a top dozen, it's already good. But we still believe that we should be among the absolute leaders. "
The Head of the Region said that Bashkortostan became the best in the Volga Federal District in terms of hotel, spa and health services, the second - in tourism services. In 2016 the tourist flow to the republic reached almost 2 million people, and the industry's revenues exceeded 17 billion rubles.
"Due to its rich healing resources - mineral waters and medicinal muds, thermal springs, favourable climate and picturesque landscapes, Bashkir honey and koumiss, Bashkortostan is famous for its health complex, which includes 31 sanatoriums and rest homes, 170 recreational facilities that can annually accommodate up to 250 thousand people", stressed Rustem Khamitov.
The President of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy Umberto Solimene supported the words of Rustem Khamitov regarding the beauty of Bashkir nature.
"You do not have a sea here, but you have a" green sea", he stressed. "Bashkortostan is a very green republic."
The program of the forum, which will last until June 1, includes an international scientific congress dedicated to the strategic importance of Russian resorts, round tables, symposiums, seminars, lectures, master classes, scientific and practical sections, and the All-Russian Exhibition of Sanatoriums and Resorts.
The Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, the President of the National Resort Association Alexander Razumov, directors of sanatoria and resort establishments from Russia and Bashkortostan, doctors, representatives of the scientific community, departmental sanatoria and resort institutions, specialists of the resort industry from the regions of the Russian Federation, and also Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Italy, Slovenia, Lithuania, France, Austria, Germany take part in the Forum.
