"Reserve Belt. From Urals to Lake Baikal" auto expedition in Bashkiria

UFA, 22 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The "Bashkiria" National Park welcomed participants of "The Reserve Belt. From the Urals to Lake Baikal" expedition organized by the employees of the Yugansk reserve (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District) in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Russian reserve system.
The route of the expedition with a total length of about 10 thousand kilometers passes through Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk regions, Perm Territory, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, Khakassia Republic, Buryatia, Altai Territory, Omsk Region, Altai Republic and other regions. On the way, it is planned to visit 20 specially protected natural areas: the national parks - Shorsky, Bashkir and Zyuratkul, and the Orenburg, Visim, South Ural, Shulgan-Tash, Ilmen, Yugansk, Malaya Sosva, Altai, Kuznetsk Alatau, Denezhkin Kamen, Khakassky, Sayano- Shushensky, Baikal-Lensk, Djerginsky, Baikal and Barguzinsky reserves.
At first tourists from Yugansk visited the Orenburg reserve. On May 21, they arrived in the Bashkiria national reserve. "The Republic of Bashkortostan met us with a May storm and a downpour. We were given a short tour of the surrounding landscapes. We took a group picture from the viewing platform with a view of the Belaya River, and from other elevations we captured the Yumaguzinskoye and Nugushskoye reservoirs", the expedition reported in the social network group.
Also in the republic participants of the rally will visit the "Shulgan-Tash" reserve, Bashkir and South Ural reserves. The expedition will finish in Barguzinsky Reserve on June 24, from which foundation in 1917 the Russian reserve system dates back to.
