Special fire safety arrangements were introduced in Bashkiria forests

UFA, 4 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Since May 4, Bashkortostan has introduced special fire safety arrangements in the forests. This will allow applying certain restrictive measures to prevent wildfires.
As stressed today at a meeting in the Government RB, the situation with natural fires in the republic, as well as in the whole country, has recently become more complicated. Only in the last three days the number of fires in the settlements of Bashkortostan has increased noticeably. 18 outbuildings were damaged, seven houses were burnt.
As the head of the EMERCOM of Russia in Bashkortostan Marat Latypov reported at the meeting, the necessary set of measures had been provided to prepare for the spring-summer fire-dangerous season.
However, despite all the measures taken, 23 forest fires with a total area of 340 hectares have already occurred in the region since the beginning of the fire-dangerous season. Forest fires are registered in the territory of Beloretsk, Burzyan, Ishimbay, Duvan, Kugarchi and Davlekanovo districts. In most cases, fires in the forests were man-made.
According to the Deputy Minister of Forestry of Bashkortostan Marat Sharafutdinov, 10 forest fires occurred in the region over the course of the day. To date, nine fires have been eliminated on the area of 102 hectares. One forest fire is still active in Beloretsk region in the territory of the Tirlian forestry. The area of ignition is 197 hectares. 87 people and 11 units of equipment are involved in its extinguishing. There are no threats to populated areas and facilities.
