Polish Culture Days will begin in Bashkiria on May 11

UFA, 4 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Bashkiria will host the Days of Polish Culture from May 11 to May 14. This year they are timed to the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Centre for Polish Culture and Education RB and will be held within the framework of the Days of Slavic Literature and Culture.
The key events will include: a concert of students of the A. Penkevich Polish Sunday School, opening of the "Spirituality, Traditions, Skills" exhibition of Polish folk costumes and arts and crafts. The traditional literary and musical forum will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the heroic death of Janusz Korczak and his students.
The organizers plan to visit places of memory related to the life of Poles in Ufa and Mishkino districts of the republic.
According to the Centre for Polish Culture and Education RB, the head of the Consular Section of the Moscow Consular District of the Poland Embassy in the Russian Federation Marek Zelinsky will arrive at the celebrations in Ufa. The events will be attended by guests from Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Izhevsk, Chelyabinsk region.
The Polish Cultural and Educational Centre of the Republic of Bashkortostan (now the Centre for Polish Culture and Education RB) was established in March 1997. The first chairman was the candidate of arts, Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation and RB Vyacheslav Strizhevsky. Regional natural history, cultural, educational and publishing activities, as well as cooperation developing in the field of culture, science and education between Bashkortostan and Poland are among the most significant areas of the Centre's work.
At the moment the Polish language is studied at the Polish Sunday School, at the philological faculty of Bashkir State University, at the Institute of Philological Education and Intercultural Communications of Bashkir State Pedagogical University.
